Kathmandu, 21 July 2026 – Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCBNL) welcomed Mr. P.D. Singh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), India and South Asia, on his official visit to Nepal from 19 to 21 July 2026. The visit by Mr Singh involved meetings with key stakeholders in Nepal to highlight the Bank’s cross-border and global network strength and expertise.
During the visit, Mr. Singh engaged in discussions on Nepal’s development priorities, investment opportunities, and the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainable economic growth with senior government and regulatory leaders, including Hon. Dr. Swarnim Wagle, Minister of Finance; Hon. Dr. Gunakar Bhatta, Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission; and Mr. Kiran Pandit, Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. Mr. Singh’s visit to Nepal was marked by a networking event hosted by SCBNL to celebrate the Bank’s valued partnerships with leading corporate executives, banking sector leaders, and representatives from multilateral institutions.
Speaking at the event, Mr Singh, said, “As a global network, we are well positioned to connect South Asian economies to global markets. The Bank’s expertise in cross-border, lending, advisory solutions capital and customised business solutions enable our clients across markets like Nepal drive growth, which further fuels the economic development of the country.” Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited (SCBNL) has been operating in Nepal since 1987, when it was first registered as a joint-venture institution.
